What cookies and tracking tools are
In addition to traditional cookies, this notice also covers other digital tracking tools, i.e. similar or equivalent technologies that make it possible to identify a device and track usage behavior:
Local Storage and Session Storage
Client-side storage areas built into the HTML5 browser that allow interface settings (e.g. dark/light mode) or local session parameters to be saved persistently.
Tracking pixels and web beacons
Small snippets of code or transparent 1x1-pixel images used to verify page loading or interaction with informational communications.

Installed and managed directly by Esse 2 S.r.l.s. for the technical operation of the institutional website.
Third-party cookies
Generated and controlled by domains external to Esse 2 S.r.l.s. (for example, analytics providers or cloud infrastructures) embedded in the pages.

Technical and strictly necessary cookies (exempt from consent)
Legal basis
Performance of a contract or of pre-contractual measures, and the Controller’s Legitimate Interest (Art. 6.1.b/f GDPR; Art. 122(1) of D.Lgs. 196/2003, the Italian Privacy Code). Prior consent is not required.
Purpose
To ensure proper browsing, online security, the persistence of authenticated sessions, and the storage of the consent status expressed by the user on the privacy banner.

Analytics and performance cookies
Legal basis
The user’s consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), or Legitimate Interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR) where techniques are adopted to mask the final portion of the IP address and the third party contractually undertakes not to combine the data with other databases.
Purpose
To collect aggregate information on the number of visitors and on how they interact with the content, for the sole purpose of optimizing the architectural performance of the website.

Profiling and marketing cookies (subject to prior consent)
Legal basis
The user’s freely given, express, informed and unambiguous consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR). These cookies are disabled by default on the first visit to the website.
Purpose
To monitor web browsing in order to build a profile of interests, target relevant advertising communications, or measure the effectiveness of promotional campaigns.

Consent management and privacy by default

When the user first lands on any page of the website, no non-anonymized analytics cookie or profiling cookie is installed until explicit consent has been given.

The initial consent banner allows the user to “Accept All” trackers, “Reject All” (keeping only technical cookies active), or “Customize Preferences” by individual category.
